Sustainable Practices
From the very beginning, we made a promise to ourselves that if we were to create anything with a widespread impact, we wanted it to be a positive one. With Leroli, we thought through every touchpoint to be as sustainable as possible.
FABRIC SOURCING
We only use fibers that are natural/of botanical origins, renewable, and biodegradable. We avoid virgin synthetics like polyester, and source our fabrics from countries with strict environmental regulations. Learn more here.
FABRIC RECYCLING
We try to minimize the waste of our fabrics as much as possible. We take the offcuts and repurpose them into new products, like bags and accessories. For pieces that are too small or oddly shaped, we cut them into ribbons and use them in our packaging.
All remaining fabric scraps are recycled through local programs to create insulation, carpet padding, furniture lining, moving blankets, and more.
PACKAGING
We use Kraft mailers that are made from 100% recycled paper (90% post-consumer) and printed with water based inks. It is 100% recyclable.
Our packing tape is made from Kraft paper and is 100% recyclable.
We use 100% recycled Kraft paper to wrap each garment prior to shipping to give it extra protection. The ribbon we use is made from recycled offcuts from our production. Please recycle the wrapping paper and keep the ribbon, or recycle it at your local textile recycling program.
Our shipping labels are thermal printed and printed on compostable labels. Please remove and compost/throw away before recycling the rest of the packaging.
PRINTED GOODS
Our hang tags are printed at a local, eco-friendly printer to reduce carbon emissions. They are printed on Domtar EarthChoice paper, which is 10% Recycled, FSC® Certified to be farmed from sustainable forests, and certified by the Rainforest Alliance. It’s printed using non-toxic electro inks, using wind power.
Our notecards and business cards are printed on Mohawk paper, which is also FSC® Certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
Our packing slips, and all internally printed (only if necessary) documents are on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper, which is also FSC® Certified to be made sustainably.
MANUFACTURING
We manufacture locally in New York City to reduce our carbon emissions. We personally pick up the garments from the Garment District in reusable containers and avoid using single-use plastic packaging that garments are typically packaged in.
